A Tisket, A Tasket

My new haunt...one of Mom's scrap baskets.  I'm pretending I'm the Easter Bunny, although he's a ways off yet.  I wasn't really feeling as cross as I look in this photo -- Mom surprised me with her camera!

Tomorrow's the Academy Awards, and I'm all atwitter.  I'm such a Hollywood guy at heart.  Hope my favorites win!

Enjoy the show, catfans!

Cold & Rainy

Ah, the weather.  More of the wet stuff...hail today, too.  What's a cat to do!  I have a special hiding place under the couch, replete with Mom's Blahblee.  What's a Blahblee, you ask?  Why, one of Mom's coveted mummy bags that she sleeps with.  And like everything else, there's backstory...

When Mom was a wee little girl, she schlepped around a small blanket, the satin edge of which she rubbed with her left hand while she sucked her right thumb.  Maybe more detail than we need here.  Anyhow, she couldn't say the word "blanket" yet, so she called this thing her "Blahblee."  Fast forward a hundred years, and once Mom was living on her own (WAY before me), she started using an old down mummy bag inside of the sheets on her bed to keep her toasty, and she took to calling the bag her Blahblee.

Now she has Blahblee and Blahblee Junior.  Junior is the original down bag, Blahblee proper is not downfilled, but heftier, and so it has become the major Blahblee in Mom's life.  Anyhow, Blahblee Junior lives under our couch during the daytime, and I end up spending a lot of time down there schmoozing with it myself.

So there you have it!

Me and Mr. Monk

Since watching all eight seasons of Monk, I've become a lot more aware of my phobias.  In addition to my long-standing hatred of vacuum cleaners, I now find that I'm afraid of hail, garbage trucks, music (like Bonnie Raitt, go figure, but Mozart might be okay), visitors...and I don't know, the list seemed longer when I thought about it the other day.

Oh yeah, fear of my kibble bowl being completely empty -- but that's nothing new.  I used to have a bottomless bowl of the dry stuff.  That was until I started spreading.  Now I get fed a small amount twice a day and when it's gone, it's gone.  Empty bowl.  I use that as a meditation tool.  If I look at the empty bowl long enough, eventually it always gets more food put in it.  So praying must work!

Cat-cha later!

Colorful Me

I couldn't decide which of these two images I liked better, so I decided to post them both.  Two photos of my beautiful mug for you to enjoy!

Mom got herself a drafting chair so now she uses her studio work table as a computer desk.  At the moment I'm just to the left of her as she takes dictation.  I love it when Mom's home -- i.e., when she's not at work.  So glad we regularly get to spend four days together, occasionally five, at a stretch.

I love my Mom...we have a good life together.  I'm a happy camper!
