Our lives are becoming even quieter than they were. Mom especially likes not going anywhere as often as she can. And I especially like her being home with me.
It's the Fourth of July today. Mom's hoping there's no fog tonight, because she wants to see the fireworks from the fairgrounds in Ferndale, just west of here...watching them from our beloved bluff at home, of course. Last night I hid under the couch while fireworks were going off in the neighborhood. Not where we live, but just across the road from our (senior) mobile home park.
So anyhow, we're both feeling our independence today, our being as unhitched from the rest of the world as we are.
