Almost A Done Deal

The scuttlebutt around these parts is that there's a new kitty coming home soon. I think I'm excited about this. It'll be another few days, maybe a week, while the little guy recuperates from a bit of a cold.

I think his name is Kirby and he's a medium haired black and white kitty. I did hear Mom say today, though, that she thinks she might be allergic to him. She spent time with him today, the second time they hung out together, on her way back from Eureka and she said her eyes have been bothering her this evening. I'm really lucky, my hair is short and Mom's not allergic to me. Anyhow, since Mom works where Kirby is living at the moment, she'll check out the allergy situation again next week. If he doesn't work out, there's a guy there named Toby that Mom likes also, and he has short hair. She might even change Toby's name to Kirby!

So we'll all have to wait and see who my new BFF is going to be!

That Conversation, Part Deux

Can you dig my eyes in this photo? I don't know how it happened...but it's a good look, isn't it?

Oh heck, I'll come right out and say it...I'm lonely as all getout! I hate when the folks leave for their respective days out in the world and I'm left home alone. I feel mopey and sad.

So, they've been having That Conversation again, the one about whether or not to get another kitty, someone to keep me company. The more they talk about it, the more I'm starting to feel like it might not be such a bad idea, after all. Mom and I are tight, I don't think anything will change that. So maybe I needn't be afraid of our relationship changing -- or wait, is it Mom that's afraid of our closeness changing? I don't know, we're kind of co-dependent with each other so I'm not sure which one of us is more concerned about this.

On the other hand, more love in the house IS more love in the house. Another feline critter, a playmate, someone to show the ropes to, someone to help me get more exercise, someone to curl up with on cold rainy days...hmmm, this is sounding better all the time!

Now the question is, male or female? Shucks, it really doesn't matter to me. If they get a male, I'll take him under my wing. If they get a female, maybe she and I will end up being soulmates like Aja and Grayson were (Mom's two cats that she already had when she adopted me, both of whom passed on a few years ago, a year apart).

I'm going to keep an open attitude about this. I'll keep you posted!

It's About Time!

I've been in this very spot for days, now, begging Mom to let me write a blog post. Now is as good a time as any, she says.

Mom came home for a catnap late morning today, so we hung out on the bed together for a couple hours, with the warm sun streaming in through the window. It was totally delightful.

Actually there's not too much to report. Life goes on, day by day, no huge changes for me, which I am eternally grateful for. I like to leave the changing to the folks. Just let me be me, here in our cozy home, I don't want to go anywhere, I just want to get fed on a regular schedule and sleep whenever I want, and give and get as much love as I can possibly handle. That's my kind of life...and I'm stickin' to it!

Hope all you catfans are well and happy!

Feed Me You Fool!

When Mom caught me laying on the kitchen rug this morning waiting to be fed (like I don't have a bottomless bowl of kibble there to munch on whenever I want), she couldn't help thinking of this card she's had for eons!

I guess this is another case of life imitating art! Ha!

Catcha later, catfans!

Licking My Chops

How Mom gets these photos of me with my mouth open, I'll never know. I have no idea what I was eating, but I was enjoying it.

Well, I've been lazy lately, mostly enjoying my days on my perch over the bed on the east side of the house, or on my cat tree on the west side of the house. Either way, I have my unique views of the world, and I like watching life go by. How many months have I been in the house now? I'm over trying to get out. This is my life...I'm reconciled with it.

We haven't watched much TV lately. After finishing up Season 4 of The Closer, we tried to get back into Midsomer Murders, but they got kind of boring. And nothing else has appealed. So the folks have been reading more. I can highly recommend Dexter, though, on Showtime, that's a killer show!

I'm going to try to write more often. Thinking about blog posts is something I could do while I'm relaxing. I'll think up something good and entertaining and be back atcha real soon!

Ciao for now!
